Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional and/or student, with a Bachelor’s degree (or in-process of obtaining one) in finance, business or economics, to support our Regional Taxation Team. This is a temporary assignment opportunity, requiring full forty hours per week for a period of three to 4-6 months. This position is based in Mississauga, Ontario and will support various taxation activities, including but not limited to:

• Review the appropriateness of sales and withholding tax audit assessments.
• Assist in the preparation of Corporate tax returns and Corporate tax provisions.
• Contact with customers and vendors regarding the tax audits including billings of tax where required.
• Internal in-depth review of sales transactions and vendor payments for correct tax applications.
• Assist in correction of sales tax errors on BASF invoices/purchase orders.
• Provide assistance in responses to sales tax and withholding tax audit queries from tax authorities.
• Provision of educational sessions and information on sales and withholding tax issues to internal staff.

Qualifications

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or economics (or in-process of obtaining one).

· Authorization to work in Canada without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Outstanding work ethic.

· Agility and ability to adapt to changes.

Desired Characteristics

· Previous internship/co-op experience a plus.

· Ability to work on multiple projects.

· Attention to detail.
