  • Contribute to the business segment team, primarily adding credit expertise and awareness to the business function.
  • Provide assistance and financial guidance to Operating Divisions and BASF customers through historical and pro-forma financial analysis, personal visits, telephone, and written communication.
  • Review customer financing arrangements for recommendations.
  • Facilitate orders, manage risk, and maximize the prompt turnover of receivables as establishing and reviewing existing lines of credit.
  • Address blocked order queue on a daily basis to ensure no interruption to order fulfillment process.
  • Review existing and new credit lines, in accordance with North America Credit Risk Management guidelines.
  • Monitor potential problems and risk accounts by analyzing customer's financial condition (financial statement review).
  • Arrange equitable repayment schedules, obtaining collateral and protecting investment in A/R.
  • Partner with Operating Divisions through collaboration with the Credit Analyst Team, Collection Analyst Team, Finance Business Managers, Sales/Marketing, Product Management, Controllers and Shared Service Center on: DSO, KPI Trends, Risk Analysis, Sales Meetings, Bad Debt Requirements, Litigation Accounts, and Monthly Reporting to help raise awareness of the credit situation for the respective business.
  • Interact with the Shared Service Center.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects aimed at process standardization or developments to support business-specific activities and needs.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of business experience; OR a minimum of 10 years of Credit, Finance, or Accounting Experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong understanding of the elements of: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Accounting Principles,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both external and internal customers, including product management, sales, back office teams, and customer care.
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and investigative skills.
  • Negotiation, mediation, and conflict management skills,
  • Strong sense of accountability; able to communicate and influence others with and without position authority.
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and balance "dual citizenship (Finance and the business).
