  • Act as the regional technical support specialist for Oral Care within the Care Creations portfolio.
  • Serve as the interface between R&D, Technology, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Manage activities to fit with the personal care strategy, while focusing on customer needs and product concepts.
  • Serve as the expert in Oral Care applications as well as apply the expertise via hands on projects in the lab.
  • Function as the direct technical contact for regional customers, working globally to collect and distribute information on catalog products, as well as customer-specific project information.
  • Provide technical expertise to regional customers and regional key account teams.
  • Translate customer needs to the technical team and assist in defining project scope.
  • Support customer projects (concepts/product developments) internally, in close cooperation with R&D project leaders and marketing.
  • Identify product/technical concepts trends, customer demands in the regional market, determine impact to the regional strategy, and propose pertinent technical solutions in relation with Oral Care portfolio.
  • Support launch/post-launch technical needs.
  • Support regional poster sessions or lectures in the frame of congresses and symposiums.
  • Coordinate project execution and assure adherence to the project scope.
  • Ensure compliance with IP and legal requirements.
  • Understand key account organization and global R&D organization goals and technological capabilities.
  • Collect and exchange information with the regional marketing and sales team.
  • Share information and feedback on ongoing projects with management.
  • Identify the needs of the customer and make appropriate suggestions while providing technical expertise.
  • Support regional External Scientific Collaboration when needed (contacts and follow-up).

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • Master’s degree in Science, Chemistry, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, or a related field with 7 years of experience in the personal care industry.
  • Formulation experience in personal care industry is required.
  • Experience formulating oral care products is highly preferred.
  • Specific experience in direct personal care customer interaction is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge in development and analysis of oral care products.
  • Scientific knowledge in the field of oral care products and scientific claims is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong presentation skills, presenting with impact.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills, solid computer knowledge (e.g., Pack Office, Lotus Notes).
